Light up a candle
Today I'd like to show you how you can make this:

I'm using Photoshop CS2.

Special thanks to sleepless3333 who helped me to translate the tut and tried to drive my crazy! *gg*  I love you girl!!! *huggles*

First of all you'll need a pic with a burning candle on it. You have to crop it until it looks good as an icon.

Click the magic wand button at your toolbar. Now the cursor changes into a magic wand.

Click on the flame of your candle and then click the right mouse button. Choose LAYER VIA COPY.

You've got a new layer with only the flame on it.  Copy it twice (we need the two layers later)
Go back to the first flame-layer-button on the right side and click the right mouse-button. Choose BLENDING OPTIONS.
Click on OUTER GLOW and change the size to 16 pixel.

Now click on your second flame layer.
Click on the Move-Button and then click with the cursor on your new flame-layer.

Extend the flame of the candle a little bit.

You should get something like this:

Click the right mouse-button on your layer-bar and choose BLENDING OPTIONS.
Click on OUTER GLOW and change the size to 16 pixel.

Now click on your third flame layer.
Click on the Move-Button and then click with the cursor on your new flame-layer.

Extend the flame of the candle again. It should only be a little bit longer as on the second flame-layer.

Click the right mouse-button on your layer-bar and choose BLENDING OPTIONS.
Click on OUTER GLOW and change the size to 18 pixel.

Now open your animation program.

On the first frame make only your base and the first flame layer visible. All the other layers are invisible!
For the second frame you make your base and the second flame layer visible.
On the third frame you should make your base and the third flame layer visible.
The fourth frame looks like the second. Base and second flame layer are visible.
For each layer change the time to 0,2 sec.

It should look like this:

And now save it - FINISHED!!!

*g* Im Grunde ist es ganz einfach - man zieht die Flamme 2mal ein bisschen lang. Ich hab halt noch nen Schein drum rum gemacht, damit es etwas weicher wird. *gg*

I tried to re-do what you did... but I don't know... it doesn't look like yours... do you think it's good enough?

Ahhhhhhhh this is awesome!!!! :o)
I think the only difference is the shine of the fire. It seems like you've forgotten she outer glow when the flame is on the highest position. But this doesn't matter 'cause it looks gorgeous this way!!! ♥
